Privacy policy
“Hacı Ramil” is the official video and book library of Hacı Ramil Bədəlov. The app is developed and maintained by Kanal5 (Baba Allahverdiyev, “we”). This page explains what data the app collects, why, and how to delete it.
Without signing in
Videos, books and live streams work without an account. In that case we collect no personal data; your settings (language, theme) stay on your device.
What we collect when you sign in
- Google account data (through Firebase Authentication): name, email address, profile photo, account identifier.
- Profile details you enter yourself (optional; needed to take part in surveys): first and last name, gender, date of birth, region, app language.
- In-app activity: liked and saved videos, saved moments and notes, watch position, reading progress, saved books, bookmarks, survey answers.
- Searches with no results: the search text that found nothing — without who searched, only the query and how many times it was searched (to improve search, kept 90 days).
Why
Only to run the app's features: to sync your library and progress across devices, to run surveys and to protect the service from abuse. Other users see survey results only in aggregate (by gender, age and region, never by name). Individual answers are visible only to the app's administrators, and without a name in an anonymous survey. We show no ads, do not sell or share data for advertising, and use no third-party analytics.
Notifications
Push notifications (live streams, new videos, surveys) are sent through Firebase Cloud Messaging using topic subscriptions. We do not store your device identifier on our server. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your phone's settings.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase (sign-in, notifications) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- YouTube — videos play in the embedded YouTube player, which is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — protects and delivers our server traffic; IP address and technical request data are processed for security.
- Groq (AI, USA) — text written in open survey questions is sent without your name or contact details to produce a short summary of the answers; it is also used to transcribe speech in the channel's videos. groq.com/privacy-policy
YouTube API Services
The app uses YouTube API Services. By using the app's YouTube features you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service; the Google Privacy Policy applies to them.
- Without connecting a YouTube account, our server reads only public data about the channel's videos from YouTube (title, description, duration, view and like counts, public comments). Comments are cached on the server for no more than 10 minutes; statistics are refreshed at least once a day.
- Connecting your YouTube account is optional and happens only when you tap “Connect”. Google asks for
your permission (
youtube.force-ssl). After that, and only when you tap the matching button, the app likes or un-likes a channel video, posts your comment, subscribes to or unsubscribes from the channel, and checks whether you have already liked a video or subscribed. The app never posts anything on your behalf automatically. - The Google access token is stored only on your device. It is not sent to our server, and we do not store your YouTube account data. Your comment is public on YouTube under your name.
- To disconnect: in the app — Profile → Settings → YouTube account → Disconnect, or at any time on Google's permissions page: myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting deletes the token from your device. Comments and likes you posted stay on YouTube — you can delete them there.
Storage and security
Data is stored on our server and sent only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). It is kept for as long as your account exists.
Deletion
You can delete your account and all data linked to it at any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. Details and a way to do it without the app are here.
Children
The app is not directed specifically at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
